Valentine/Turkey Cookies

Today I finally did it! I made Ma's Turkey cookies....in hearts of course! I haven't tested one yet because they are "drying." The icing turned out perfect! I'm so happy to have done these following the recipe that has been passed down in our family! Hopefully Luke will think they taste like Ma's cookies. Mom and Dad have been trying for years to get Grandma's Spaghetti Sauce to taste like hers....I think she stuck her bony little finger in it! Sure do miss Grandma!!!Thanks Ma for sharing the recipe!

Bridal Bunco

Last night was my first time to play Bunco with this group. I have played in Missouri with my Aunt JJ and boy did we have a blast! This group was fun too! It was held at Shelly's house and she chose the theme "Bridal Bunco." We brought some wedding pictures and even wore our veils. Mine was really wrinkled, but I wore it with pride...too bad I didn't have someone take my picture! Oh well. We had a blast. Thanks Shelly for inviting me!

Cat Pattern

Mom found this cat pattern by McCall's, so I decided to make one. This pattern is so easy and once I found the online manual to my Singer, I can now thread a bobbin successfully! The hardest part is attatching those legs. This is a fun pattern to work on!

My new project

My friend Sarah is having a baby soon, so I knew I had to get her something. I decided to make her this stuffed dog. She's having a little boy Paxon Luke Voth, and she is doing her nursery in puppy dogs! This dog was a lot of fun to work on and I hope she likes it! I even threw in a profile for ya! I would have liked to put buttons for the eyes but with it being for a baby I didn't think it was safe! Thanks Mom for giving me this idea!

How the Lord ALWAYS provides...

Luke and I had the daunting task of balancing our checkbook last night. We try to do it at least every couple of days just to keep ourselves on track. We keep a tight budget which helps alot! The thing that I was concerned about (which I shouldn't have been) was how we were going to pay the vet bill for our guinea pig, Ginger. It's crazy to think that a $15 dollar guinea pig ended up costing us over $300 bucks in one weekend....but she is totally worth it. Well to make a long story short, I have no idea where the money came from....but she is paid off without a hitch. The Lord always provides with our animals. I believe He sent them to us because no one else wanted them, and He always provides when we trust Him and are good stewards of what He gives us.

Happy Valentine's Day!

This Valentine's Day has been one to remember for sure. I have an ear infection, upper respiratory infection, and a sinus infection! Woo Hoo!!! I am on antibiotics so hopefully I will feel better in the next couple of days. Luke brought me home a dozen White Roses, Mom and Dad sent me flowers, and Dad put a sweet card in the mail to me! I was able to make "Ma's Turkey Cookies" a Lindley Tradition at Thanksgiving, only this time I made them into hearts. I didn't ice them with her recipe though, just didn't have the energy...I will later as I put about 2 dozen in the freezer! Luke and I watched Emeril Live and American Idol last night...then I was exhausted! Here are some pics of the flowers I got...

The best Valentine I got this year was my guinea pig coming home. She has been at the vet since Friday with a Kidney Stone. I didn't know guinea pigs could get that and when she wasn't eating I had a feeling we were going to have to put her to sleep. She is four years old and has had a good life with us. The way I look at it now is every day is a blessing to have her here at home.

Chuck's First Quilt!!!

This is Chuck's first quilt ever!!! I am SOO proud of him. He went to town on this thing. The design and colors are amazing! His points meet up perfectly too. He is such a hoot to be around. We love to joke with him whenever we go to Missouri. Ma's Project Linus group makes quilts to go to the local hospitals for children to have. It's a wonderful organization...and they are so lucky to recieve this quilt from Chuck. Some little person will truly love it. On the back, it even has pockets and a stuffed turtle for someone to love. Great Job Chuck!!! I love you!!! You truly do inspire me to quilt!

Neosho, Missouri

We went to Neosho this weekend and had a wonderful time! Ma introduced us to a new card game that I really like..."Kings in the Corner." It's a form of Solitaire...which is really fun! We ate healthy this weekend as Mom and Dad are doing great on their new diet. Ma seemed to really like her new SnowBaby....."Hooked on Knitting." I thought it was really cute. Aunt JJ finally got down how to shuffle Ma's slick cards. Alyceson is looking forward to graduation in only 3 months....I remember those days! All in all, we had a wonderful time. I love coming to Neosho anytime of the year.

A funny Picture...

I was going through the pictures from the snow and came across this one. Poor George....not his best shot... He had just discovered the snow outside (his first ever) and didn't really know what to think of it. I was freezing from holding the door open, so I shut it, and took a picture of him....guess my flash was a little bright! Oh well....a great one I will have to scrapbook for sure! My sweet Curious George.

Scrapping at Anna's

Luke and I went over to Anna's house on Saturday night...it was a busy weekend! Anna, Sarah, and I all scrapbooked while the guys (Brad, Jared, and Luke) watched T.V....and did other manly things. I have know Anna since my Scrapbook Corner days. She is so much fun to hang out with and is a very special friend of mine. Sarah, her sister, looks like she is about to pop with little Paxon. I can't wait to meet him! Anna and Brad's little Corley is such a sweet baby. I never get tired of holding her!!!

Melissa and Duane over again!

Melissa and Duane came over to the house on Friday night. We ate spaghetti and talked for a while. The girls had fun running circles around the coffee table. It was a very eventful night as Valerie didn't feel too good. I'm glad she is doing so much better now. Melissa and Duane are a hoot to be around!

Enjoying the Snow

It really didn't snow all that much here. Luke was able to work from home yesterday which was nice. The dogs did have to stay outside yesterday during this nasty weather, but they came inside last night to towels freshly washed and warmed in the dryer. They are so spoiled! Madison and I watched TV after I did the laundry. I love cold weather!!! Every time it snows I always think of White Christmas...a classic...and one of my all time favorite movies!!!
