Christylee's 28th Birthday

This past Sunday was Christylee's 28th Birthday...we are one day apart! I wanted to do something super special for her so I invited her and Lily over for lunch! We had King Ranch Casserole, Green Beans, Rolls, and of course Chocolate Birthday Cake with candles! It was so much fun to see Lily laugh and enjoy herself! Happy Birthday to the best friend a girl could have!!!!!!

Lily...she's a ham for sure!

I LOVE, LOVE, this picture, we're all 3 laughing!

Birthday Fun!!!

On Thursday, Christylee and I got together for a breakfast at Ihop!

Our breakfast which included endless pancakes!

Me holding a bottle of syrup....old fashioned, my favorite. Pardon the paleness....I was recovering from Mono...this was my first outing in 2 weeks!

Christylee and Strawberry Syrup!

We had the best time. After stuffing ourselves, we went back to my house to watch the final DVD of Anne of Green Gables. It was intense....and yes, we cried! It was a fun day!!!

Friday night, Luke and I went to Ghengis Grill for my birthday celebration.

Our cooked meal....I chose noodles while Luke got fried rice...not a pretty site, but it was delicious!

Luke surprised me with my birthday gift...no, not an Iphone, but tickets to go see Tyler Perry live in Madea's Big Happy Family...it's in Memphis!!! I can't wait!!!!

Long time, No Blog!!!

I guess I haven't blogged in a LONG time. I haven't really been out and about or taken any pictures! I've been recovering from a sinus infection that turned into bronchitis...that then turned into Mono....not fun for me!

Yesterday, I was able to tutor my little girl. I hadn't seen her since before Christmas break as I was so sick! I brought her a McDonald's Happy Meal. She was thrilled....she even had to show me how the toy worked. When she first saw me, she said, "I didn't think you would ever come back!" That made me turn to mush right there in the cafeteria!

We sat down (in the floor....which I am WAY too old to do now) to do some math homework. Can I just say I am NOT smarter than a 5th grader? What the heck is an Equivalent Fraction, the LCM (which at one time I'm thinking is a muscle), and ratio's. I'm going to have to do some research before I go back next week.....this is truly sad.

When I told her my birthday was this Saturday and that I was turning 28....she says, "Wow, that's old!!!" Made my day for sure! Gotta love her!

I did it!!!

So I've been working this past week and a half on a pair of socks. Well, today I finished the first 1/2 to a pair!!! I did it with no one showing me....just by reading a book! I'm so impressed and I love this sock yarn from Knitpicks. Just thought I would share!

Bring on 2010!!!!

Jason Taylor....it was SO good to see him!! Just like old times!!!

Joe always is messing with me...and Nick...well he photo bombed this one!

Nick & Luke
Luke and I spent New Years Eve at Nick's new apartment this year. It was fun as usual. All the guys played the new Mario Brothers on the Wii...and I think I basically ate all night! Nick made little smokies, a new cheese ball which was awesome!!! I brought cheese dip, Joe's famous bean dip, and a pie. We even had Bunco Buns. It was a feast. It's really neat to still be as close to our old classmates as we were in high school. I wouldn't trade that for a thing. Luke and I left the party about 10....I was just plain worn out!! I rang in 2010 in my sleep while Luke actually stayed up to watch the ball drop!

Great Grandma Graham's Tea Towels

Chris, Grandpa Graham, Grandma Graham, & Me

The frames!!!

Number 465 of paint.....all of which didn't crackle!

My Yarn cabinet...it's full and so are the baskets beside it. I found some vintage knitting magazines at a flea market, so it makes a good display...including the glass washboard Aunt JJ gave me!

Luke figuring out how to frame the tea towels
Over Thanksgiving Ma gave me tea towels that my Great Grandma had embroidered. I knew immediately what I wanted to do with them. With Luke's BIG help, I was able to put them on display in our living room. We used a closet door....which we tried to crackle paint...and ended up just using good old sand paper. We hung them in 8x10 frames all with ribbon. I even put up a picture that I found of Me and Chris with Grandma and Grandpa Graham. I think it turned out lovely! I wonder what Grandma Graham would think of it now!
