Bye Bye!
My good friend Ann had her daughters wedding on Saturday. It was such a pretty wedding. Luke video taped the affair and I helped Ann decorate and do odd jobs. Luke was able to be part of the Rehearsal and the Rehearsal Dinner, so as soon as I have time I'll add his pics on here too. We had lots of laughs for sure...especially over a few tables cloths we had to piece together! I loved the caterer's food spread. It was all so pretty! We helped Randy and Ann take down afterwards and I'm still not sure how we fit all that stuff in her Honda. It was packed to the gills for sure! Luke and I are really blessed to have Ann and Randy as our friends.

After the wedding, Luke and I went to Coltons to have dinner. It was a wonderful way to spend our actually anniversary. To think we even had wedding cake that day too! Simply Priceless.

Happy 5 year Anniversary

Dad had the idea for the curtains and lights at the church. It was all so beautiful!

Our wedding Party (Jennifer, Anna, Lele, Leah, Rebecca, Me, Luke, Nick, Marty, and Joe)

We were told if you lean forward you lose 10 lbs!

They Saran-Wrapped our car!

I had birdseed all down my dress...what a mess!
Today Luke and I have been married for 5 years....he says it's LOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNGGGG years....but what does he know! We were just looking through some wedding pics and thought I'd share some. What a fun time it was! Dad and the whole family built the arbor the week of the wedding. I can remember Aunt JJ talking about the tarps we put around it...how they smelled like feet...well we did use them for The Kingdom! I also remember riding down the elevator with Joe, Nick, and Marty. The guys didn't know what to say and were kinda teary. They got over it though pretty soon. Poor Luke was so nervous looking. I remember Mom talking about her Mashmellow Peep hair and Aunt Debbi telling her...it doesn't look like a Peep...when she really thought it did! I also remember going to the PeaBody after the wedding and someone asked me, "Did ya'll just get married?" DUH!!!

Well now Luke's trying to find our wedding album...it's in with all my other scrapbooks! Well I had better pull him out of the closet before he hurts himself! Enjoy the pics! It's been a great 5 years.

Banana Split Crop

Last night we had a Banana Split Crop at church. We had a wonderful turnout...I think about 18 in attendance!! I supplied the ice cream and everyone brought toppings to go with it. We had a wide spread from chocolate mint cookies to strawberries! It was a wonderful time of fellowship and fun. I had a blast demonstrating my cricut. I love when someone learns something new! Thanks ladies for a wonderful evening!

Benton Transmissions

Ok, first of all I'll apologize to all I am about to offend. Some of you may like Benton Transmissions...others may not. I would definitely be under the category of the "NOT." Let me just tell you what they did to my car!!!
Number 1: They broke the drivers door handle.
Number 2: They forgot to change my oil when it was sitting in the passenger seat.
Number 3: They put 2 scratches on my front bumper that I KNOW were not there before we took it in.
Number 4: My car is still leaking oil which is why we took it in there in the first place.

Their answers to the numbers above:
Number 1: Well those things just break and we were the unlucky ones I guess. It was glued before so I can't say for sure we broke it. (I have been driving it for all 8 years. We took it off Northpoint Lot and not once have I EVER glued the handle!) I am replacing this handle that's worth 16 dollars. What more do you want me to do!
Number 2: I guess that would be my fault for not mentioning that they needed to do that. We did however replace the oil so I don't see what the problem is. (That is when I took my car in the 2nd time...after it sat at their lot for a week!)
Number 3: Well this being an older car....I just don't know how they go there. I can't say I look over every car when they come in the lot. I will have to talk to my boss on that one. (The boss who never comes in and he couldn't/wouldn't call.)
Number 4: Well I'm not Jesus, If I was people would be praying to me. I will do this however...bet you my paycheck that it's not leaking oil from the part we replaced. I'd take the transmission out again and if it was...we wouldn't charge you. But I'm not Jesus here.

So, unless you want to be taken advantage of and have you car torn up...do NOT take it to Benton Transmission! Luke and I argued and argued with that Mr. Gary. I think I went almost too Madea on him...but we did however get half our money back. I don't think it looks good for business to be pointing out loudly what they screwed up when new customers come in. My Momma and PaPa always said to stand up for what you believe in...and we did it yesterday! Let me know what ya'll would have done!!!

What's for Dinner Tonight

Luke is working with Dad tonight at the church so I'm on my own for dinner. I decided to make this box kit I got at walmart for 3 bucks! I would highly recommend it! All you need is chicken. It calls for olive oil to brown your chicken in, but I just used a little Pam in the skillet. It's pretty good. It would be even better with bread and a salad, but I didn't want to fix all that for just me! Hope you try it soon!

I'm home now!

I had a very restful evening last night thanks to Mom and Luke. They both took great care of me. I was very surprised I wasn't that knocked out after surgery. Today though, my face feels like it's been run over by a semi-truck! I'm not sure what happened, but my face is bruised and really sore and swollen. Oh well....nothing a little more rest won't fix. The surgery went great and I wasn't even the least bit nervous yesterday morning. Thank you to all the prayers that were prayed over me....I really felt them and appreciate them even more! Today my agenda is to "Take it easy and rest some," as Luke says to me every morning. I'm going to do a little laundry but that's about it! Thanks again so much! We are hoping to keep this little tube for about 6 months....a year would be even better!

Tube Update

Just wanted to let everyone know that Melissa had her tube put in this morning and everything went very well. She's home with Deborah resting and I'm sure will update everyone later this evening or tomorrow. Thanks for your prayers.

Where not to take your car!

Can you see the scratches?

That's the second set!

My car has been in the shop due to oil leakage since last Monday. We took it to our dependable mechanic Ken at Sullivan's Auto Shop off Sardis on Monday. He didn't have the tools to fix it so he sent us to Benton Transmission. It has been there ever since. I went and picked it up this morning. It was over 700 bucks worth of work, but hopefully it will be in top shape now...or so I thought.

When I went to pick up Madison from Dr. Mike's I thought my door handle on the outside felt funny. Yeah, real funny..it's broken! And on top of that, they didn't change my oil like they were supposed too. We even supplied the oil...it was in the passenger seat...hello. So I take it back this afternoon and they changed the oil and will have my door handle in on Wednesday. When I got home, I took out the trash and noticed scratches on my front bumper that wasn't there before either.

We'll see what happens. I go for my tubes tomorrow! I'll keep you posted on my car!

We're Home!

That's just our purchases..not our suitcase!

Us at the Roberson's

We left Branson this morning at about 8:30. We actually slept in til 7:30...but it didn't feel like sleeping in when we were up from 2:30-4 in the morning. We stopped in Omaha at the Roberson's Orchard. Luke actually remembered this place. I bought some new potatoes, a bottle of Vidalia Ranch Dressing, a cookbook, and another jar of Pear Preserves. I love that stuff! We ate lunch/breakfast (I got breakfast and Luke got lunch) at Furgesons. We also ordered one of their huge Cinnamon Rolls to go. We ate that at about Clinton.

We ended up home about 2 today. At first we thought our air conditioner was having issues. We were wrong...thank God! Then our dryer started getting really hot to the touch on the top. I had 1 more load to go and couldn't understand what the problem was. Well, come to find out it helps if you clean out the trap outside. When Luke fixed all of that last month he put in a new vent outside. It has a new little trap that you have to clean out. We forgot all about that!

Well I have everything put up and the laundry about done. Tomorrow I get to get MadisonMurphy from Dr. Mike's and check on my car. It's been in the shop for oil leakage and we're hoping it doesn't break the bank! We'll see!

It feels good to be home. The dogs and cats sure are happy!

It's 2:54 AM!!!

And I am up...why you may ask??? Because at approximately 2:45 there was a screaming child outside our door. At first in my sleepful slumber, I thought that lovely child was upstairs or beside us and I immediately felt sorry for their parents. Well, let's just say I don't feel sorry for them anymore. I had Luke check the hallway at first where he preceded to talk to a little girl named Syriah (not sure how you spell that). He was getting no where, so I went outside to visit. She was doing the crying sniffles....you know...the, "I can't talk cause I have cried so much!!" So, I did my best preschool rendition of...."How old are you", or "I like your Barbie doll night gown." I found out that her Daddy wouldn't let her in the room because he was watching a movie. So I began to knock on room 207...the room I thought she was in. No one answered.

I had her stand outside our door in the hallway and called the front desk. I think the man was a little surprised but came up to meet us. The way we were sitting in the hallway you would think we were having tea at 3 am!!! Come to find out her last name was Thomas and she lived in 206...all the way at the other end of the hall! The man was able to get her parents to answer the door. The Dad didn't sound the least bit upset or surprised that his kid was outside screaming and not in their room. I'm thinking....Number 1...how did that child get the door open and Number 2 at least look down the hall and thank whomever it was that took care of your scared little girl. He didn't even tell the front desk guy thanks! Go figure.

So as I head back into our room for the rest of the morning....Luke looks at me with that goofy grin of his and says, "And I want kids because???" He's a nut for sure! Now, I'm off to finish the rest of my goodnight here in Branson...that is if I can go back to sleep. I'm so speechless over this!!! Lord knows my parents would have worn my butt off me AFTER they hugged me and found out I was OK. And the good Lord also knows that they would have thanked the person who returned me without harm...and possibly that little preschool sub down the hall! Good night!

Branson Day 4

Thanks to Aunt JJ we LOVE Gordmans! They have clothes, decor stuff, bedding, dishes, you name it...and it's cheap!!!!

Talking to Mom about what I bought at Gordmans

Bass Pro Shops

I think I'm invisible!

These ducks were so pretty

Do you see him?

Branson Landings

Branson Landings Dock

Joe's Crab Shack

This was parked next to Luke's car....made me miss my focus!

Today we went to Springfield. We had the best time! I am so surprised I know my way around Springfield. I think we ended up going to about 4 Scrapbook Stores between Branson and Springfield. We also visited the Bass Pro while in Springfield. It's so big and has so many things! Luke bought me a pair of Croc Flip Flops...let me just say I don't mind spending 30 bucks on them...they are wonderful!!! Only on my left toe it has rubbed a small blister, but I'm hoping that will go away. I love my shoes! Tonight we ate dinner at Joe's Crab Shack at the Branson Landings. It had rained earlier in the day and the weather was chilly down by the water. We were able to eat outside and our food was so good. I had the Coconut Shrimp, and Luke had the grilled shrimp which was also really good. We shopped for a bit at the Branson Landings and stopped by Marble Stone Creamery. Their ice cream was good...well it should be for over 10 bucks! We are back at the hotel now and I'm off to bed. Shopping and eating all the time is hard work! We are headed home tomorrow...I miss my babies!

Branson Day 3

Today we got up and had breakfast here at the hotel. We were at Silver Dollar City by 8:30...I was really hoping to be the first ones in the park...but we weren't. Oh well! We watched them raise the flag this morning which was pretty neat. They honored all the veterans and had them go and help raise the flag. The weather was perfect. It was cloudy and cool almost all day! Luke talked me into going and seeing Goss-a-mear the Magician....can we say cheesy??? Yeah it was pretty corny, but we did get to sit down for about 30 minutes. We had some of the grilled skillets for lunch. Luke had a sausage combo and I went for the Chicken Fajita stuff. It was great!
While we waited to see Veggie Tales Luke went and got us a funnel cake. I think we were the only ones in the Veggie Tales play to not have kids. It was really cute though....we enjoyed it! We also were able to watch the Circus on Ice. It was great! These skaters actually skated on stilts..pretty wild!

It was a wonderful day. We had so much fun, but are so tired. Enjoy the pics, I'm going to bed!
