At Geyer Springs Preschool anything can happen at anytime! I was a substitute yesterday for the three year olds and had a blast! I only had 6 kids yesterday which made it easier than normal.
Kids do say the funniest things though! Right after nap everyone must have a potty break. Well apparently 2 little boys really needed to go....so one said to the other, "If we hold it too long my daddy says your pee pee will fall off and then we have to go to the hospital!" Then, the other little boy decided to show the whole class his "peepee"...which I about fell in the floor...needless to say I was glad when potty time was over!!!
I did have 2 problem children out of those 6 though..one little boy told me, and I quote, "Be quiet you are giving me a headache"...he preceeded to say about a dozen times to me while he was in time out...for YELLING...talk about giving ME a headache. And the other little boy who shall remain nameless kicked me in the knee....yes I have a bruise. I also put him in time out where he continued to yell and tell me if I sent home a note to his parents his Mom would just laugh!
His Dad was no more interested in making the child mind at all! Oh well....all I have to say is he's 3 now...wait til he's 13!!!
I also got a huge compliment at the church yesterday. Mrs. Lisa came in and offered me a job working mornings in the preschool class! I was thrilled at the idea of having my own class! She also told me she didn't want to lose me as a sub though either....(so even with the yelling, headaches....they are happy with me!!!).
Luke and I discussed it last night and he really enjoys me being at home and only subbing! I love being able to take care of things here for us during the day...and subbing when I have time or they really need me. The Lord has blessed Luke and I beyond measure when it comes to our household and animals....and what better treasure than to be able to take care of them! I had a dream once to be a teacher, but that was before I figured out I already have a job! I'm a stay-at-home wife...I don't need a paycheck to make me feel like I need to be doing something more important...or feel more important....by having a "teacher title"..... a "stay-at-home wife" should be a title in itself!
Well enough rambling for today...I'm probably giving ya'll a headache! LOL!!!

Watching the Squirrels
I caught Madison Murphy and George the other day watching the squirrels from our bird feeder at the side of the house. I was really surprised when I put the card in my computer to see the one of Madison turned out great! They really enjoy watching the birds and squirrels...so I guess we will continue feeding those critters too...just don't want to do raccoons like Mom!!!! The stuff on the side of the feeder is called Suet...I have no clue what it is but they like it. Now, the Chenal squirrels out by Mom won't even touch that stuff....guess the Saline County ones love it!! Enjoy!

A HUGE surprise!!!
Mom called me last night and mentioned how early we will have to leave for our trip to Dallas in August. At first, I was like ok....I mean I don't mind leaving early...I'm a morning person...then she mentioned WHY we would HAVE to leave early and I about fell out of my seat!
WE ARE GOING......TO SEE....PAULA DEEN!!!!!! WOOO HOOOO!!! Now you all know how much I love Paula....I mean come on....my kitchen is painted "Melted Butter"....and you also know I'm not shy to throw in a little butter at the drop of a hat. I'm too excited! So August 25th...Paula here we come!!!!

My Plants
Ok, so talk about a random post...this would be it. I was just outside walking and then I noticed something about the front of our house. My petunias in one window box look excellent....the ones in the other box....well I think they are dead. So, WHY I ask you when I planted them at the SAME time with the SAME soil. Oh well. I might have to get some more to fill in the gaps. I think it might have something to do with this crazy weather. Petunias like it hot...but then again...on the back porch they look great! What's a girl to do!

Ladies Class Meeting and George
So I was a big dork and forgot to get out my camera last night to take pics at Ladies Class Meeting. We had a wonderful time of fellowship and of course, eating! The ice cream stuff was amazing...and I'm sad to admit, I had to have a little of EVERYTHING!!! Mrs. Sharon Barker was a great speaker and talked about waiting on the Lord and his perfect timing. It really meant a lot to me! Even though Luke and I don't have children right now, it's OK! We know that God will tell us when the right time is for our family! Who knows....He may only want us to have four legged and furry children...and right now that is perfectly fine with me. I so enjoy our "children" which have brought so much joy into our lives!
On another note, thanks so much for all the emails and phone calls about my little guinea pig. I'm doing much better now! Luke and I even got her room all redecorated so that I wouldn't have to think about it anymore. Here are some pictures Luke took of CRAZY GEORGE the other day...he's a hoot and acts more like a dog than a cat! Leave it to our family to have the "special" ones!

A Sad Day...
Well my little angel went to heaven today! Dr. Mike and I decided there was nothing else we could do for her. He was teary eyed and so was I! To make things harder on me she squealed 3 times when he took her back! I miss my little darling something awful, but I know I will see her again. Maybe Mollie Margaret and Grandma can take care of her for me til I get there! For now, Luke and I will have to change our goodnight sayings....we used to say, "Good night, Love you...and then I would always ask..."are all the doors locked? is the pigs cage closed?" In time, I'm sure I will find something else to ask at night!
Thanks for all your prayers and emails. I really appreciate it! We just get so attatched to our animals as they are our children! Mom sent me flowers today to tell me she was thinking about me...here are some pics:

Ginger Marie Update
Well I took Ginger Marie to see Dr. Mike this morning. He looked over her chart...which was fairly thick for a little guinea pig and decided on Batryl. He didn't want to keep her at the clinic because he didn't want her to be stressed so he sent her back home with me! He says we need to give her 48 hours on the Batryl before we decide anything else...meaning whether to put her to sleep or not. So, I guess the next 48 hours are a waiting period for us. We'll just make the most of it. I have already given her the medicine which she took easily. It even smelled like apples, her favorite. I'll just keep you posted!
Bye Blog World!

Brownings, Ginger Marie, and Bad Books!
Ok, so Luke and I love Mexican food...we decided to eat at Browning's tonight on Kavanaugh. It was TOO good....well, my meal wasn't but the salsa, cheese dip, and punch...was awesome! It tasted just like El Cena's food! For those that don't know what El Cena is, it was this dump of a place that my Aunt Debbi turned us onto. The first time we went there with her Luke was going to buy all of our dinners....only to find out they didn't take checks or credit cards...only cash. So Aunt Debbi ended up paying for ours too! We did repay her by visiting the ATM and stopping by her house. Gosh do I wish I could still do that... just to drop in and say hey! Anyway, this place you couldn't look at the floors, ceilings, and you went to the bathroom before you came! The food though was great and cheap!!! Someone bought the place out and bulldozed it! I couldn't believe it! We would drive to Sevier Street here in Benton sometimes three times a week! Oh well!
On another note, my little guinea pig is sick again with Bumblefoot. Bumblefoot is a disease they can get on the bottoms of their feet which makes them really red and painful...it can cause them not to eat...and that is deadly. Well she's still eating but I did notice her foot was pink again. So, I called my trusted vet, Dr. Mike. He has her on Clavamox and yogurt for her tummy. Try giving a pig stuff out of a syringe...with this one it's fairly easy...with my first guinea pig it wouldn't have been. I thank God everyday for her little life. She does mean something to Him I'm sure! I'll keep you posted on my pig!
On another ramble...I stayed up late last night reading a book by Sally John...an author I really do enjoy reading. Well this book has to do with a woman and her husband trying to have a baby. The lady is obsessed with this. She goes out of town to be away from her husband and figure things out and in the meantime the man dies in a fire!!!! What a way to go to sleep....so, of course, I had to read about another 30 pages to make it past the funeral part! How pathetic!!! I think this is how it's going to play out...she's going to be pregnant anyway and fall for the best friend. That's usually how it goes!
Sorry for the rambling...had a lot on my mind I guess.

Happy 4th of July
Luke and I celebrated the 4th of July by having Chris and Charelle come over for dinner. We grilled hamburgers and hot dogs. We also had some delicious salsa Chris made, deviled eggs, corn on the cob, and baked beans. We even had a Gooey Butter Cake! It was a really good dinner. Chris and Charelle seemed to have a good time too!
Later, Luke and I went to Tyndall Park here in Benton for the fireworks. We sat in the middle of the park on our lawn chairs (chairs we used at one time in Luke's living room for many months!) and waited for the fireworks. I have never seen Tyndall Park that full before! The fireworks show was really neat and just as good as it would have been at the river in downtown. Luke got some awesome pics!

Kansas City Trip
Mom, Dad, Luke, Ma, and I all went to Uncle Clinton's 90th birthday and Clinton and Arlene's 35th wedding anniversary party in Kansas City this weekend. Luke and I took a picnic lunch with us on our way to Neosho, MO. We took the pig trail up part of the way...I had forgotten how curvy it really is....oh boy! We ate in the car and even had time for a scrapbook store (which we FINALLY found after getting lost several times!). Friday night, we had salad and hot dogs (which Luke grilled) for supper. Uncle JR and Aunt JJ came over to visit. Uncle JR seemed to really like Mom's new truck. We got out some old pictures...which I didn't know I needed to scan...and tried to figure out who the people were. Aunt JJ had trouble learning to spell HAZLE Lindley...but the wealth of information Ma supplied was amazing. It's so neat to go back and see these old pictures and know that I'm related to these people in some way.
Saturday we all drove to Kansas City where it never stopped raining. I was really nervous about the water rising...it was almost to the highway! In fact, I'm pretty sure that they closed the freeway yesterday from flooding...I have never seen so much water! When we got to Kansas City, Mom and I went to an Archivers Store....(a HUGE scrapbooking store!!!). We checked in at the Residence Inn and all took a nap.We got all dolled up and even had time for a few pictures. Dad had to change clothes though b/c Luke spilled coffee all over the table which held the laptops. I don't think I have ever seen Dad move that fast before!!! But the computers were fine and thank God Dad had another shirt!
Uncle Clinton and Aunt Arlene's party was very nice. We got to sit with Patti and Dan and their 2 kids John and Kate. We had a blast visiting with them. We hadn't seen them in about 4 years...and since they live in New York it's a little hard to visit them. We got to see Aunt Boopie and Uncle Dean and even Aunt Beth. I loved hearing about Aunt Beth and her sweet little kitty. She's truly crazy about that cat. She even crocheted a blanket for Uncle Clinton that was beautiful!
Sunday, we had a brunch at their house. It had rained the night before so you had to be careful which chairs you sat on. Their backyard is full of flowers and even has a pool. Ma rode back with us to Missouri. It was great to able to visit with her. We stopped in Nevada, Missouri for lunch at White's Grill. Ma said that whenever they went to visit Grandpa Lindley that you had to eat at this place. That was truly the BEST burger I have ever had. She also said this place hadn't changed in years. Their Suzy Q fries were SO good too (mainly because they made them from scratch). It was a wonderful weekend, but after 9 hours of driving, Luke and I were worn out. Our animals were glad to have their parents home though. Thanks Nick for taking such good care of everyone!

Our Anniversary
Luke and I celebrated our anniversary by eating at Chili's here in Benton. We stuffed ourselves on steak and even had some chips and salsa. Afterwards, we did like any normal married couple....we came home and watered the yard! Yep we sure did!!! Then we went to Tyndall Park and walked a few laps. We came back home and watched a movie. We watched the movie Norbit...it was pretty funny!
