I have Tomatoes!!!!

I'm so excited about my tomato plants! I have been taking really good care of them, and my PaPa would sure be proud of me!!! I have about 3 on the Better Boy tomatoes and about 4 on the Grape tomato plant. I figure if these actually make it I will have done great!!!

Also, I want to say thanks for all your prayers and support this past week. I am so thankful for all the phone calls, emails, and messages I've recieved from my friends. Luke did wonderful all week with NO pain pills at all...just an Aleeve or two. I'm so thankful that the Lord took care of us!!! Thanks again guys!!!

Luke's doing Great!

Thank you for all your prayers. We are home from his wisdom teeth removal. The doctor said it was a "no-problem" procedure. Luke is now sleeping off the drug stuff. Hopefully by tomorrow he will be able to eat! Thanks again! I'll keep you posted!

Just another day!!!

Just wanted to say again "HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!!" We had a great day yesterday at church. Mom and Dad came over to eat a salad and Luke grilled some chicken tenders. That Mr. Yoshida's sauce from Sam's is amazing!!! I had 2 huge baked potatoes in the crock pot....needless to say...they were BROWN on the inside. Not sure what happened, if I cooked them too long or what....but I had a salad with my chicken while Luke ate him some chips!!!

Well I am heading off to the preschool again. I am doing the 11:15-2:15 shift for the Teacher Appreciation Lunch...that's basically naptime and lunch...I get paid for reading a book!!! Hopefully everyone will be great for me today.

Tomorrow on the other hand, Luke will be getting all 4 of his wisdom teeth surgically removed. I will be taking care of him the rest of the week. We have popsicles ready, some pudding, and even Mac and Cheese! I also plan on making a homemade pot of soup!!! I'm more worried about this than he is...but ya'll know I'm not a big fan of the dentist. I will be singing in my head "Jesus, Jesus, Jesus" its the chorus of a song the choir sometimes sings. It got me through that horrible root canal I had twice and it will get me through tomorrow!

Sadie Rose

Mom and Sadie Rose came to stay with us for a few days while Dad was out of town. I got some cute pictures of her outside. Her and BJ are best friends and she seemed to adjust well outside. She's a hyper dog...except when she spends time over here!

Paula Deen's Honey Bars

On Paula's Home Cooking today, I saw my usual re-runs....but I also found a new recipe I wanted to try. They are her Honey Bars....and they are GREAT!! I'll put the recipe out whenever I get a chance, but just wanted to tell you they are really good, and use things you already have which I love! And, can you believe it....not ANY butter at all!!!

The glaze you put on the top even has mayonaise...which I thought was weird but Luke seemed to love them. I'll post the recipe soon!

A Happy Day

I had a wonderful day yesterday doing housework. Now, some of you may say how can that be wonderful??? Well, for me, since I have been at the preschool a lot for the last 2 weeks, I haven't been able to get a lot of cleaning done. I'm OCD when it comes to cleaning the house, and I vaccumn at least 3 times a week. My Grandma would say I am vaccuming the hair off the carpet!

Anyway. I was able to mop all the tile in the house, clean both bathrooms and tubs/showers, and even caught up on all the laundry. I love being able to stay home and do the not so pretty chores. I see it as my job to make life easy on Luke so that he can focus on his job!

So, you're probably thinking...well what does she do after she has the housework caught up? Well, I sit on my butt and watch TV....NOT!!! I'm usually on the treadmill...and I even bought some arm weights the other day...I don't want these wings! Or, I do embroidery work, knit...thanks to Aunt JJ and Ma, and sometimes scrapbook.

I always do my "play" things after the chores are done though b/c that is how I was raised. Today though, I am taking Stormy Britches to the vet for her yearly. She's so wild and stubborn and she's definetly not Dr. Mike's favorite!

I'm sad to say....

Today is my last day this week at the preschool. Ok, so I'm really not SAD saying it. I'm really tired!!!! Those kids are a handfull. I had 12 the last 3 days and only 2 of them have been girls!!! OH MY GOODNESS! I have been kicked, had apple juice thrown at me, and seen more temper tantrums than I want to see! Oh well. It's fun and I enjoy it all, but when I leave today don't think I will be shedding any tears!

I had one little angel (and I use that term loosely!) yesterday tell me, "I don't like you at all!" That was right after he had just kicked me, and so being the mature one I am said, "Well right now I don't like you either!" But I did get him to sleep during naptime!

We have had doughnuts for snack, muffins for snack, and even some chocolate milk! These kids need to lay off the sugar rush for poor, poor Mrs. Melissa (or Elissa as they call me!)

Oh well, I'm off for another day of torture that I really, truly don't mind at all!

Heading out to the Preschool

This week I am working Tuesday-Thursday at the preschool for Mrs. Tonja. These kids are trying but can really be a blast to work with. Little Seth told me last week during art time that he was "drawing a Lavatory." All that I could hear in my head was "Are you smarter than a 4 year old...." so I thought,"self, isn't a lavatory a bathroom?????" Seth then replied, "No girls allowed." So after school I came home and asked Luke what a lavatory was!!!LOL!!! I guess I'm not smarter than a 4 year old sometimes!

Well I am off to the preschool. I'll share anymore interesting stories as they come about!
