Asia's Dance Recital
Asia had her first dance recital today. We were so excited. Her costume is adorable and she loved every minute of it. Anna has done a fantastic job with Doxa Dance Co. I HIGHLY recommend it. Her songs are Christian oriented and their moves are nothing but modest. Asia has learned a lot in the 4 months she's been taking lessons. Before the recital we took a few pics in the backyard. She really got into that- she loved posing herself! Can't wait to see what else she learns dancing!
Asia's 8th Birthday
We spent Asia's 8th birthday in Neosho. We packed up and followed Mom and Dad up there. We stayed at the Best Western. The kids had a blast swimming. The kids and I went to Denny's for breakfast on her birthday. She had never been there before. They both got chocolate chip pancakes. Asia said she wanted to swim on her birthday. She got to swim with Aunt Viv and Aunt JJ and Emmaline. They had a blast! We fixed Tacos with all the fixings for her birthday lunch. Of course, what birthday isn't complete without Frozen napkins and paper dolls! Asia wanted brownies for a "cake." We decked them out with Frozen things as well.
Asia really seemed to enjoy her 2nd birthday with her forever family. She keeps asking when I'm going to scrapbook it! Looking back on my pics, I just now realized I didn't take any of the family! Maybe Dad can share! 8)

The Memphis Zoo
Yesterday, we took the kids for the day to Memphis. We decided to check out the Memphis Zoo. The kids had no idea where we were going until we were about halfway there. We only stopped once for a potty break on the way over. We let them have Pop Rocks for the first time. Robert didn't know what to think at first. Asia was totally surprised that they popped in your mouth. We got to the zoo around 10:30. We decided to start at the far end of the zoo. It was a lot of walking and since the morning was cool- we headed on over to the Teton Animal exhibit. They had many animals that Luke and I saw in Yellowstone. This was probably my favorite part of the zoo. We saw bears, elk, and wolves. Granted, it was nothing like Yellowstone, but still very cool. After looking at that exhibit we headed on out to the car to eat our picnic lunch. We had sandwiches, drinks, watermelon, beans, pasta salad, etc. It was a light lunch and great for the rest of the afternoon of walking. Towards the end of the day, my tooth was really starting to hurt. We stayed about 4 hours at the zoo. After the zoo, we headed over the Bass Pro Shop in the Pyramid building. It was way neat on the inside. The kids had fun looking at the fish and water stuff. After that we decided to head over to Southaven, Mississippi to eat at Fazoli's. We have missed Fazoli's ever since it closed here- especially their bread sticks. Plus, the kids thought it was really neat to visit 2 states in one day! We had a great family day. Luke and I said several times throughout the day how much we felt like a normal family. It was sure nice for a change!

Pancakes with Dad
Getting ready to mix some pancakes up!
Putting bacon in the oven
Measuring out the mix
Roberts first time cracking an egg
Whisk it together...
Pour it in the pan
He sure looks happy huh!
Making one the size of his head
There it is!
He was impressed!
My Dad always had a tradition with me and Chris- making pancakes. We would do this on Saturday mornings usually. Luke enjoys making pancakes and I thought it would be neat to carry on the Lindley family Tradition. Robert was thrilled to be able to do this with Daddy. The put bacon in the oven and got to working on mixing the pancakes. At the end, it was time to do the Lindley Tradition- make a really big pancake. I think they succeeded! Robert thought it was cool to see how big they could get it. The pancake literally filled his plate- he for sure has an over medium egg under it somewhere! Good family memories being made.
