Grandparents Day

Nana came to school today to celebrate Grandparent's Day at their school.  We were both able to eat lunch with the kids.  I think they really enjoyed it.  When I asked them what they were feeling, both kids said: proud, happy, and excited.  They even gave Nana a card they made for her and PaPa.  It was a fun and special day.  Our first Grandparent's Day!

Turkey Hats

I decided to make Turkey Hats with the kids yesterday afternoon.  I learned my lesson in cheap construction paper- poor Asia's feathers just flopped to the side.  They had never done this before and had a blast making them.  I was exhausted afterwards with all the questions, laughter, and competition for control.  I think they turned out cute though!

Kingston's Thanksgiving Party

Mom and I went to Kingston's Thanksgiving lunch at school.  It was good to see him, Mrs. Beverly, and Natalie. He drew a little Thanksgiving turkey place mat.  The lunch was delicious!  It was a fun time, so glad I could be a part of it.

Head Lice

Gotta love my high forehead and his pink shower cap.  What a picture!

I never thought about the possibility of the kids getting head lice before.  Poor Asia had been complaining about her head itching for several days.  I just assumed it was either for attention or she wasn't getting her hair clean.  Well, I finally decided to look at it.  I was so grossed out.  We only found 1 bug and a few nits.  It wasn't a bad case, but enough that it needed to be taken care of ASAP.  Luke and I immediately googled what we needed and he ran to Walmart.  I started washing everything in site.  I think we did 15 loads of laundry in one night.  Luke took care of doctoring Asia's hair while I held no bars back on Robert.  He had a deep conditioning mayonnaise treatment with a pink shower cap all night.  I even took time to do my own hair- just in case.  Poor Luke has nothing to worry about though.  It was a nasty but fun experience.  The kids liked all the special attention they were receiving.  I couldn't help but take a few pics to scrapbook.

Decorating the Tree

We set the tree up and decided it was time to decorate.  It was our 2nd time of doing our 1st Tradition with the kids.  This was their second time decorating the tree at our house.  They loved seeing all the ornaments and hearing stories about a few of them.  They were also happy to each have Christmas trees in their rooms.  We got them an Olaf Ornament and Anna Ornament for Christmas this year.  I'd like to do that every year- when they leave home, they'll have a whole slew of ornaments for their tree.  It was a fun time.  We had hot chocolate and pop corn afterward.

Halloween

This Halloween we had a very special Leonardo and Princess Sophia present.  It was cold outside, so we bundled up.  We had our foster/adopt group come over.  We chowed down on Taco Soup, Bean Dip, Cheese Dip, Cookies, and Smores.  It was such a fun time.  We are so close to this group because they fully understand where we come from.  The kids had fun playing in the backyard while the grownups sat around the fire pit.
