Flowers and Dogs

I took the whole day today to work outside in the pollen infested air! Woo Hoo! I was able to mow the front yard, make 2 trips to Lowes, and plant some plants! I love springtime and being able to plant my plants (in containers mind you... I don't dig in the "already on the earth soil"...I only buy soil...and use pots...b/c I HATE bugs of any kind!!!!) So here are some pictures of my plants...don't get too excited yet, they are still small, but hopefully will be beautiful in a few weeks.

On another note, I would like to say that Snoopy is doing so much better on his Prozac. He hasn't stopped howling alltogether, but he is doing much better. He is back to just nibbling on his food and sleeping in the doghouse! I love the picture of Stormy and BJ...they are a hoot and such a blessing to Luke and me.

SOUL PATROL!!!

Ok, so I guess NOW I'm really a fan of Taylor Hicks. We went to the concert last night and had a good time. Before the concert, we went by Community Bakery (DAD DONT READ THIS...) and got some cookies! We ate them on the way to find a spot to park the car. We passed one of the downtown hotels and I saw two sweet old ladies standing outside and joked with Luke about how they were probably going to see Taylor too....well boy was I right! I about laughed out loud when they sat 2 rows in front of us! The concert was loud and really good. He's about as crazy as you saw on American Idol...and good looking too! These are some pictures from Luke's camera phone...neither one of us brought our cameras. I didn't think you could bring your camera to a concert...but everyone else was flashing away! Luke and I couldn't just sit and watch the opening act without checking out the lights, spots, and even the Scrim and Gobos! We are so into this theatrical stuff! We even saw Bro. Danny Baxter...we waved from a distance but never got to talk to him! Well enjoy these pictures!

Smores

Luke and I wanted to grill steaks last night. I decided since I had to run by Dr. Mike's to pick up Snoopy's new order of Prozac (yes we had to try a new medicine for OCD in dogs....we'll see how it does), pick up Luke from work, and then pick up his car from the shop...I wanted to get the Sweet Taters done early. So I put them in the oven at 1:00 with all intentions of turning off the oven and letting them sit at 3.

So, I headed off to Dr. Mike only to be asking myself...did I turn off the oven??? I debated and decided to head back to the house to see if I really did turn off the oven. I got in the house, and checked it 3 times....talk about OCD for me! I had already turned it off, so I grabbed a bottle of water and headed to run the rest of my errands.

Luke and I got home (with the sweet taters done!!!) and he grilled us some delicious steaks. We lit our Chiminea (however you spell that) and I read a book. After dinner, I really wanted some Smores so Luke went to Kroger and picked up the ingredients...they were soo good and SO sticky! Luke's not one for Marshmellows so he just settled for chocolate and graham crackers. We had a blast! After that we heard our neighbors mowing their yard and decided we needed to do the same thing. I mowed and he weed eated....we actually got the back and front done!

Talk about a busy night, but we had a blast!

Springtime...

Ahh yes....Springtime... I love this time of year. The trees are starting to bud, flowers are blooming, and my eyes are watering like a fountain. I took some pictures of our Bradford Pear Tree last night...it actually bloomed this year. Our Bradford is always the last to bloom and the last to change into its pretty fall colors.

Day #3 at the Preschool

So I've been working some extra at the preschool last week and this week. I really enjoy teaching those little ones...yes, at times it can be overwhelming considering there are usually up to twelve 3-year olds in one room with ME!!! I did have a very nice compliment yesterday...a Mom came up to me and said her son had been talking about me all weekend. He is usually very shy, and she said he never likes new subs....that made me feel really good!

I guess I don't really have any exciting news to share today. I'm working 11-2 today basically lunch and naptime so I'm looking forward to sitting down with my new Karen Kingsbury book! This is the last one in her "Forever" series....I just started last night and I'm already on page 100! She's such an awesome writer.

Well Luke and I will tune in tonight for more American Idol...hopefully the girls will do better than the guys. I don't know about anyone else, but I am ready for Sanjaya to go...when a guy has better looking hair than me...that's just wrong. I also am not real crazy about the bald dude with the "big" eyes as Simon said last night! We'll see.

Bye Blog world!

Hiking Lake Catherine

Luke and I decided to go for a hike Saturday afternoon. The air was crisp and the sun was shining. We looked at his Tim Ernst book for EASY hikes for FAMILIES and CHILDREN....keep in mind the all caps words for they will come into play later on in this story. So we decided on Lake Catherine, the Waterfall trail it was said in the book that this was a very easy hike. Well 2 miles later and uphill both ways I was a little tired and cranky. I'm not much of a "nature" kinda chick....I prefer the indoors and walking on the treadmill...but I thought I would be a good wife and do this for Luke. All I have to say is Tim LIED!!!! It was neat to see the waterfalls, but we didn't know at the time that Tim told us to go the back way first! Oh well.
Luke and I had taken this hike years ago when we were dating...well we were skinnier then and had my dog Freeway with us. I guess we were just in love and didn't mind the uphill thing. Oh well. A lesson learned....read the fine print!!!

My Scrapbooking Closet

Ok, so these pictures aren't the best I have ever taken, but the closet was small. I had a chance to reorganize all my "craft" stuff. Luke was a great source to go too, and he had my organizational supplies ready in the blink of an eye. Whenever I want to design a scrapbook page, I only have to go in the closet to find it all! It's all easy to see and easy to reach. I also have 6 big drawers for my knitting, embroidery, stamps, etc. I even have my yarn all organized too! I love spring cleaning! Thanks Luke!
