I have a horrible knee wound!!!!

** Notice that little white bottle...that's the "glue" see how big the remover bottle is?? Yep, the HUGE clear one....wonder what that means!?!
Just kidding! Mom and I got Walter's makeup in the mail today and I couldn't wait to play in it. We are hoping that this new stuff will work great for his "wounds." I applied a nail hole to my knee and used some other makeup stuff to make it look real. Now imagine in TFDL (twenty feet dim light) how this will look on him.
Step 1: Apply Graftobian adhesive to the "scar" and where you want to place the "scar". Allow to dry.
Step 2: Apply the "scar" to the "scar" site and it sticks! I have had it on all day and it hasn't moved.
Step 3: We applied some Blood Powder to the scar and the area around it. Then we took a damp towel and hit my leg...which made the road rash type look. Don't worry, Mom didn't beat me and I am fine....just caused a great effect I think!
I am going to leave it on my leg to see how long it will stay....and actually how hard it will be to get off...who knows! If this makes life easier on Walter backstage I'm all for it and don't mind being the guinea pig at all! This is too much fun!

My painful Ears

So I'm at it again. I felt the normal ache last night in my head and knew what it was. My friend Margaret got me in at 10am. this morning and Dr. Wright confirmed it...I have double ear infections. I feel like a preschooler! My ENT said everything was great on Monday...my ear was back to normal....but then last night it started. She told me to quit working at the preschool because of all the germs running around. I really hate that because I really loved working with the little ones, but there comes a point in time where your hearing is more important. So today I start back on Tylenol and Omnicef...my best friend antibiotical! Hopefully this will do the trick!

Happy Belated Valentine's Day

Our Valentine's Cards

My BBQ Man

My cheesecake muffins...not much to look at!

Lovely pic of us....me in my PJ's and no makeup!

Our dinner, doesn't look like a lot but it was good!

Luke and I celebrated Valentines on Saturday night. He had been sick all week with an upper respiratory infection, and I didn't think steaks would be too good when you are sick. Luke grilled fillets and we had loaded baked potatoes. We had Chocolate Cheesecake Muffins for dessert. I used the recipe on the back of the New York Cheesecake Hershey Kisses (they are TOO good). The cheesecake turned out ok...they were supposed to be in little mini muffin tins, but I didn't want to mess with that. So, I did the big muffin tins. The chocolate part was a little dry but the cheesecake made up for it. We watched Underdog...which was too cute. We also watched Tyler Perry's Why did I get Married? It was a wonderful movie. Of course, anything with Tyler Perry we just love. You could see some Madea coming out in parts on the movie. I would really reccommend it. Well enjoy the pics.

The wonderful people of TK '08

Regina, Mary Sue, and Mom

Regina, Me, and Mary Sue

The lovely robes we have left til Sunday

Is that in the Bible?

Working on the Kingdom is a wonderful ministry. The Lord blesses our time in so many ways I cannot possibly begin to name them all. One way He blesses us is through our friendships. I had the wonderful opportunity to work with Mary Sue Brashears and Regina Edmonson and Mom in costuming the choir. We have had so much fun. They are wonderful ladies and a hoot to work with. While costuming the choir, we found ourselves saying the same things over and over again: "No, you cannot wear your glasses." "You are just Jerusalem Jesus People" "This isn't the Jerusalem Gap!" "No tennis shoes, either bare feet or Jerusalem type sandals." "Let's see if we can find you a costume in a lovely shade of gray....they were almost all gray!" Most of the choir members were great to work with and others....well we had to explain, "No, there isn't a costume that will look great on you, because they are all robes!"

Needless to say it was a lot of fun. I think the funniest thing was when Mary Sue said, "Well, what do they think we are doing eating fabric and pooping out costumes?" That's what they are laughing about in that first picture. Mom said, "Here Mary Sue you have a string on your mouth!"

Ok, so I said I'd never do it again....but....

I tried another Rachael Ray Recipe. I said I wouldn't do it again after those nasty chicken tenders, but I couldn't resist this recipe...and it sounded good too! It's really "health-full" as she says which really annoys me....but I have to give it to her it was a good supper! It's her Roasted Veggie Ratatouille.....try it!

Ingredients
Salt
1 head garlic
Extra virgin olive oil (EVOO), for drizzling
1 medium eggplant, ends removed, peeled and cut into small chunks
2-3 medium zucchini, ends removed, cut in half lengthwise and into small chunks
2 red bell peppers, cored and cut into small chunks
1 large onion, cut into small chunks
4 sprigs thyme, leaves removed
Freshly ground black pepper
1 pint grape or cherry tomatoes
1 pound whole wheat penne
1/2 cup Italian parsley, chopped
1/2 cup grated Parmigiano Reggiano cheese (a large handful), plus more to pass at the table
Preparation
Pre-heat the oven to 450ºF. Place a large pot of salted water over high heat and bring to a boil.Cut a sliver off the top of the garlic head just large enough to expose the cloves. Tear off a large square of foil and place the garlic in the center. Drizzle a small amount of EVOO over the head and wrap the foil up around it. Place in the oven and roast until golden brown and tender, about 45 minutes.
While the garlic is roasting, cut up the veggies and place everything except the tomatoes on a large baking sheet along with the thyme leaves.Once the garlic has been roasting for about 15 minutes, drizzle the veggies with EVOO and season them with some salt and freshly ground black pepper. Roast them in the oven until tender and caramelized, about 30 minutes.
Once the veggies have been in the oven for about 10 minutes, place the tomatoes onto another baking sheet, drizzle them with EVOO and season them with some salt and freshly ground black pepper. Toss them into the oven with the other veggies and roast them until they’ve burst and shriveled up slightly, 15-20 minutes.
Once the veggies have about 10 minutes left to go, drop the pasta into the boiling water and cook to al dente, according to the package directions. Drain the cooked pasta, reserving a cup of the pasta cooking liquid, and transfer to a large serving bowl.
Once the garlic is done roasting, allow it to get cool enough to handle, then hold the head in your hand over the serving bowl with the pasta and squeeze out all of the roasted cloves into the bowl. Add the reserved pasta water, roasted veggies, tomatoes, parsley and grated Parmigiano Reggiano cheese to the bowl and toss it all to combine.Pass some additional Parmigiano Reggiano at the table alongside the bowl of pasta.

*** Of course, I never seem to follow it to a "T"...so I did a green bell pepper instead of a red one. The red ones were 3 bucks a piece at Walmart....no thanks! I think some bacon mixed in would add the saltiness it needs. Oh, and I didn't add the thyme either...just plain old salt and pepper! I didn't buy the grape tomotoes either...just 3 roma ones....roasted them and mashed them a little and roasted for about 2-3 more minutes.

***I even roasted 2 heads of garlic. I took and softened 1 stick of butter and added 1 head of roasted garlic to that butter. Then I spread it on some french bread. The roasted garlic is easy to do and SO good...just roast and squeeze it out!

Is that Cher or my Mom???

Mom and I decided to tackle the costume closet yesterday. We worked literally all day cleaning out stuff and looking for costumes for the choir. We found some fabric and were able to invent some new costumes. We also found a lot of junk. We found animal costumes from YEARS ago, a red tongue with flames (you could actually wear this item), and even candles that probably were so old you couldn't light them. Among the many items we found were the lovely wig and crown you see on my Mom. Yes, I agree, she is never meant to be a black headed woman! Seriously, these pictures should be on Mom and Dad's next Christmas cards! Oh well. We are heading back in the morning for more trauma....I mean work!

Pics of our Babies

Well I was able to get a few shots in with my camera this morning of our dogs while they were relaxing by the side of the house. I think they turned out pretty good. Snoopy's poor eyes on this medicine look so sad! I hate to drug him, but it's better than seizures and me losing my mind!!! Well they are barking and ready to come in, so I'd better do it! Bye Blog!
