Set Construction Part 2

Tom Forner and Luke with their cookies.

The food was SO good

The Prophet Ronnie Barker with the star of david

The scrapbook girls...thanks Jared!

We were able to work on the set last night and really got a lot of things done. Mom and I were able to get all the makeup out and set aside for those ladies. We were even able to get the set decor out and even some choir props out. My goal for this year is going to be to have all the props in boxes that we use. Then that way for next year it will be easier to get them all going again! Pam Robideaux made us a wonderful dinner of pork tenderloin, baked mac and cheese, english peas, cookies, and strawberry shortcake. It was wonderful. Tom and Luke even had fun with the cross cookies. Check out the pics.

Choir Blocking for TK 08

What is it with Mom and Wigs???

The choir listening to instructions before we began.

Luke and Reed

Jason took this one all the way by the spotlights!

These are the "Pot" movers...they will move the water into wine pots for us!

Last night was our choir blocking rehearsal. The choir is always so much fun to work with. It's amazing to me how many people we are able to fit on that stage. There are 162 choir members/kids and about 30 or 40 main cast. Last night we were able to get everyone into position and see how things were going to work. I was able to take a lot of pictures last night....as well as run all over the church building for Mom....didn't need the treadmill yesterday! Jason Brock even took a few great ones for me! Luke and I got home about 11 last night and he fixed us scrambled eggs and we ate some cinnamon danish...it's the closest thing to waffle house than going there! Enjoy the pics.

Here are some pics from last night. We had so much fun again! We ate a wonderul dinner of lasagna, green beans, orange fluff (or dead people salad as Troy called it!!!), bread, an oatmeal cake, and Chocolate and Coconut Pie! Oh my goodness were we full! We had a chance to show Sarah and Vickie Williams how to do Walters makeup and they were really excited. Enjoy!

A Snowy Morning

My Spring wreath with snow on the ground.

The trees from our backyard view

George enjoyed the snow on the patio table....crazy cat!

Samson with snow on his face

My poor little Snoopy

BJ is not coming out!

Stormy looks cozy

Our front yard view
I was super excited to see snow falling yesterday morning here at the house. It was only 73 degrees the day before....who knows with Arkansas weather. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to take pictures of our babies. I just put up my spring wreath on the door too! Oh well.

Snoopy has had a rough couple of days this week and will be staying inside when I'm not here. Snoopy and Samson aren't getting along. Luke and I have ordered a "fenced pen" for Snoopy to stay in outside when we aren't here....that way he can be outside and away from Samson. He's a sad little guy for sure, but we are really trying our best.

Anyway. Sorry for rambling. Enjoy the pictures. The snow didn't last too long as it was gone by the afternoon. There's another chance though for Friday here....we'll see! We need something to kill off all the germs!

TK 08 is fast upon us!

Here are some pics from the set going up this past Sunday evening. It amazes me how it starts from wood into this amazing set! We have had so much fun this year already....and it will only get better! Pam Robideaux (sorry if I mispelled your last name!!!) made us wonderful dinners the past 2 nights. Man can she cook, and it's so nice of her to give of her time for us hungry workers! Well enjoy the pics, I'll have more to come!

Wye Mtn. Bust

I like taking pictures at an angle sometimes.

See the deer????

Luke and I wanted to go see the Jonquils yesterday at Wye Mountain. We figured it would be our last outing before the Kingdom. We were also a little disappointed in what we found. NO FLOWERS!!! It looked like they had all been mowed down. We did find their Wye Mountain Community building to take pictures at. We even found some Jonquils on the side of the road too. Coming home, we drove by Pinnacle Mountain and spotted deer. My zoom lens did pretty good! If you ever get a chance to go to the Daffodil Festival in Camden....it's wonderful. We were sad we won't get to do it this year, but there's always next year. We had a good day trip listening to the Kingdom on CD and we even had time to finish a Honey-Do list when we got home! What a day!

We had a night full of Whips!

The Whippet

Randy and Ann

I was too embarrassed to go inside and take a pic, so through the window was great!

Luke and I went last night to eat with our friends Randy and Ann to the Whippet in Prattsville. It was SO good. On the walls of the restaurant they have pictures of the graduating classes from Prattsville. Randy's Mom is even on the wall. The fried catfish was really good and the pass-arounds even better. They had beans, cole slaw, and green tomatoes that were so good! Randy and Ann always know the good spots to eat!

Luke cutting the burlap

Our first strand....using a plastic handle....we pitched that idea!

The blood powder with one strand of wet...it's the red outside the fake scar.

The whip. Using 4 strands and a braided handle.

The four strands made it even more bloody looking!

When we got home Luke and I started working on making the whip for The Kingdom. I'm not really sure what happened to the other one, but Luke had an idea of what would work. We took weathering foam and cut it into strips, then wrapped it with black burlap. The Graftobian Blood Powder works well when the whip is wet. We tried it out on my arm and then I hit Luke's back for a few beats....just to see if it really did hurt. It stung but not bad at all. Well enjoy the pictures! Walter will have the final say in what works....and if he doesn't like this we'll come up with something else!
