Ok, so you might get tired of seeing the same ladies, but I don't think I ever will. The talent in this group is amazing!!! Nancy Arnold made a shawl for a person in our group who was diagnosed with cancer. At our meeting, she was able to give it to Mrs. Carita Taylor...who is just super sweet. It was a neat thing to see a shawl someone made be given to the recipient by the same person. This is truly an amazing ministry!

It's Over!

Her gifts

This cookbook was really cute, and I think she loved it!

My heart is full today as it was my last day to tutor my sweet little girl. She was super excited to see me after missing me on Monday afternoon. We almost ran to the library as fast as she walks! She opened my gifts and I was able to take some pictures of her and me together!!! Talk about exciting for me, I can scrapbook this!!! She LOVED her cookbook and apron (which had her name on it!!). Thanks to my Mom for taking the time to make it. I had her try it on and it fit like a glove! We read through her cookbook and spent the rest of the time visiting.

I'm sure going to miss my times with her. That was the highlight of my Monday afternoons. I feel more blessed because I had her in my life...if even for a short time!

MadisonMurphy Willums

Luke and Madison

Luke and Madison...she hates the camera!

Notice my blood shot eyes and no makeup....because I have cried it off....I feel so much for David and his wife Jennifer....their loss has made me appreciate and love our animals more. Luke and I are praying for them!!!!

Me & my angel

Luke and I took the opportunity to take a few pics of Madison last night. Luke's friend David lost their dog a few days ago. I have cried off and on for them most of the week! I am so tender hearted when it comes to people and their animals. I wanted to take a few pics of just us and Madison last night. She's a delight in our hearts and my little angel. In the next weeks to come I hope to take a few more of our outside critters because they are just as special to us! I didn't do that last night because Snoopy can't have the flash on the camera due to seizures!

Some New Recipes...

Our meal in a bag

Our Meal
I decided to try Shanghai Chicken and Zucchini with Spicy Mandarin Ginger Glaze the other night. It was from our Taste of Home Cooking School....and it's all cooked in a Ziploc Steam Fresh Bag. I was delighted with how it turned out....I ended up cooking it about 13 minutes as our microwave is tiny! Next time, I'm adding more Chili sauce...as it needed more spice!

Shanghai Chicken and Zucchini with Spicy Mandarin Ginger Glaze:

Ingredients:
2 boneless skinless chicken breast halves (4 ounces each)
1 medium zucchini, cut into 1/4-inch slices
1 can (11 ounces) mandarin oranges, drained
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon hot chili oil (I bought Thai Chili Sauce in the Oriental Section of the store)
1 teaspoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger root or 1 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoons minced fresh cilantro (didn't even add this!)
Lime wedges
Directions: In a medium or large Ziploc® Zip 'n Steam™ Bag, combine the chicken, zucchini, oranges, soy sauce, oil, cornstarch, ginger, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Seal bag and shake gently to combine ingredients. Pat ingredients into single layer. Cook on full power for 5-6 minutes or until a meat thermometer reads 170°. Let stand 1 minute before handling. Carefully open bag. To serve, cut chicken into thirds and top with zucchini, oranges and sauce. I served mine with rice.

Mountain Dew Cake

I also made this the same night to take to scrapbooking....it's a Paula Deen recipe and SOO good!

1 box lemon cake mix

1 (3.4oz) box instant lemon pudding mix

1 can Mtn. Dew

3/4 c. Vegetable Oil

4 large eggs

Preheat oven to 325. Grease a 12-15 c. fluted pan. In large bowl combine all ingredients until smooth. Pour into pan. Bake 45-60 minutes. Let cool in pan for 10 minutes and then turn onto wire rack to cool.
