I want to live on the Edge!

Our new ride!!!! A 2010 Edge!

The happy owners

Tom & Me

Luke & James McMoran....didn't know he worked at Landers, but it was wonderful catching up with him!

Landers Baby!

A used 2008 Edge we drove, wasn't digging the black interior at all though.

Luke prepared to leave the house....notebook full of notes his Ipod with financial apps and stuff on it....I really don't know!

The Lord totally worked out our car issue. We weren't even looking to buy this Saturday, but we did! Everything pretty much fell into place and it was the best experience I've ever had buying a car! Tom was our sales person....he actually used to be a DJ on Spirit FM. We shared testimonies, stories, and he even came to see our puppies and make sure the Edge would fit in the garage. We bought a 2010 Fire Red Metallic Ford Edge. It doesn't have many bells and whistles which is what I wanted. It's funny really, for the longest time I told Luke I only wanted a 1 CD disk changer....and he basically said they don't make those anymore. Well ours has a 1 disk CD changer in it and I love it! It even has Sync in it, which I'm not impressed with but Luke and Dad sure are! They are just impressed that our car is Microsoft Powered....whatever! Gotta love having a new ride!

On Saturday, the Geyer Springs Prayer Shawl Ministry hosted their first workshop. We taught about 15 women how to knit and crochet. It was a lot of fun! Listening to the laughter and needles clicking together was truly a treat! Mom helped so much in making sure the food was all ready to go.....and man was there some food! Our ladies are so talented. The Lord is really blessing this group for sure!

My Poor Little Focus.....

God truly does answer prayers, not always in the ways we want Him too.....and trust me, He does have a sense of humor. Luke called me this afternoon to see if I wanted to go on a surprise date. He asked me to wear church clothes and he would come home and get me. Well, I was just putting my shoes on when he called and said he had had a wreck and I needed to come and get him. So, I guess I got all dressed up to go and stand on the freeway....hey, at least I looked good!8)
So, I made the trip down to Baseline and had to make the loop twice. Traffic was horrible. I drove by, saw my car, and got teary eyed. The windshield was totally busted, the radiator is cracked, and the hood is majorly bent. I did take a few pictures....well a lot of pictures. I was so glad Luke was OK....just a little shaken up. My little Red Car did good in a wreck considering. It's now safely in the tow yard and we are waiting on insurance junk.
So, God does answer prayers, as I have been wanting a new car for some time.....it's just hard to see my little red go. I remember Mom and Dad giving it to me for Graduation on May 16,2000...and to see the tow truck driver load it up was truly sad!

The food...more like crock pot fest

The card

Dru, Timmons, Brandon, Luke, Nick

Last Saturday night a bunch of us got together at Nick's apartment to surprise Joe with a frame! Nick got it altogether and had a frame made of pressed flowers and a picture of Joe and his Mom. Of course, Joe was late getting to the party. He seemed really pleased though. His Mom was wonderful to all of us...putting up with the loudness of Halo and RockBand as well as all our crazy talk! She was truly a wonderful lady. We really wanted to honor her and Joe by giving him something special from all of us. We had a good time visiting and of course eating! Thanks Nick for having us all over...your apartment is great! And by the way, HUGE compared to Luke's first crib!!!

Ok, so ya'll have been wanting pics....here you go! We still have the carpet to tack down in the bedrooms and the T Molding to go....but it's almost there! I still have yet to put up my decor around the fireplace and TV Stand! Enjoy...let me know what you think about the furniture placement, I'm loving it!

Kyle & Katie's Wedding Weekend Celebration!

This past week Mom and I made a trip to Neosho to help out with the celebration of Kyle & Katie's Marriage. What a time we had!!! We were able to stop at the Discount Dollar Store in Anderson on our way to Neosho, that place is HUGE!!! We ate Wednesday night at the Chinese Buffet with Aunt JJ. Thursday, Mom and I made a trip to Joplin to buy food for the reception. We even had time for the Mennonite store in Newtonia as well as My Sister & Me in Neosho (where I bought a new washstand for the living room).

Friday was the day of preparation. We went to Aunt JJ's around noon to find her sitting on a stool at the kitchen sink trying to peel eggs. She asked us, "Whose idea was it to devil these stupid eggs?" Well, needless to say Melissa got to finish deviling 30 eggs. Uncle JR worked on grilling burgers, brats, and sausages on the grill. Their new deck is too nice! Mom and I were able to get all the food ready while everyone was at the rehearsal. We sat out on the back porch and watched everyone go by. It was a fun evening! Later that night, we headed back to Ma's house to make Salsa.

If I NEVER EVER see an Onion again, it will be too soon! Ma's knifes aren't that great, so Aunt JJ sent us home with a "chopper." Mom and I kept thinking we were going to have to chew the veggies and then put them in the salsa! It was a memory for sure!

Saturday was the big reception for about 200. Mom and I fixed: Salsa & Chips, Aunt JJ's salsa, cheddar cheese ball, crackers, veggie tray, Chicken Caesar Kabobs (thanks Aunt JJ), Fruit Kabobs, Stuffed Tomatoes, Shrimp Rolls, Eyeballs (that's what Aunt JJ calls 'em!), Brisket, Bread, and Meatballs. It was a spread for sure! We even did 2 chocolate fountains....which I hate!!!! Someone turned it off during the reception, so it hardened right away...not a pretty fountain for sure!

Kyle and Katie looked like they had a great time. There were a lot of people there and the room was simply beautiful!

The next morning we were able to eat breakfast with everyone while they opened their gifts. I kept thinking I should have another wedding shower! ha!

I'm so thankful for the time I get to spend with my family in Neosho, no matter how tiring it is, we still have lots of laughter and good memories!!!

Tutoring Session Lessons....

Yesterday I went to tutor my little friend. She's a hoot for sure. She was definetly in a talkative mood, so we visited more than we read. She told me she still loves band, but is still not looking forward to Jr. High. I asked her why and she informed me that she doesn't want to do the whole locker thing....especially with a lock! I reassured her things would be fine, she said, "Well I won't have you next year either...." Boy that made me sad for sure!

She asked me how old I was....27 I said.... she says, "Well, that's not old... now if you were 50 or 55 that is WAY old." I couldn't help but smile. She also informed me that her and her brothers got out the Twister game again (thanks Mark and Amber for that gift!!!!). She said they had a blast playing it on Sunday afternoon.

We started reading the Box Car Kids again....she asked me why the pictures weren't in color. I was able to show her how to figure out when a book was printed as well as how to pick a good book. As we were reading we came to a part in the book talking about the children going to look for a "DUMP". I knew exactly what she was thinking by the look on her face. I asked her what was wrong, she says, " Well, why in the world are they going to look for poop. That is just nasty!" She got me to laughing right there in the library. I had to explain to her that a DUMP is not a DUMP like what she was thinking, but an actual junk yard.

We visited some more, I brought her pencils and a pencil bag this time. She said she really needed one of those. Each day I spend with her is more special than the last!!!
