Lily's 9th Birthday
I don't know where time has gone. It seems like just yesterday Lily was born! She had a Tea Party birthday yesterday. Luke and I went- as we do every year. It's always fun to see her interact with her friends. This year, Christylee had us put tattoo's on the kiddos. It was a neat craft but oh so hot outside! I love hearing the noise and laughter at the Riddle's house. It makes our house seem so quiet now-especially without our kiddos. Lily gets presents every year I have no idea what they are- it's always educational for me. She's turning into a pretty young lady! Happy Birthday Lily! We love you!
Kingston's Soccer Game
Kingston had a soccer game this past Saturday. I couldn't resist taking pictures of him. He played a good game and gave it lots of hustle for sure. He plays on his bottom most of the time- I told him he had to work on staying on his feet after kicking the ball. He informed me that his shorts were on backwards and that was the reason- sure it was! He scored a goal during the game. He's a good little soccer player. His friend Graham was on the other team. It was fun to watch them interact while being on different teams. It was super hot at the field, but we had a blast watching him play!

Saline County Rodeo
Luke and I took Kingston to the Saline County Rodeo at the Saline County Fair. We got to the fair and let Kingston figure out which rides he wanted to ride while I stood in line for food. Well, he decided to not ride any, so Kingston and Luke went to get us seats for the rodeo. I brought food to them. We had a fair food night complete with hot dogs, ribbon fries with cheese, and a hamburger. We topped it off with candy!
Kingston had never been to a rodeo before. I kept telling him Nana used to do barrel racing when she was little- he found that hard to believe. He loved the horses and bulls. He even got to go in the arena and find money. He scored 1 dollar! His favorite thing was a remote control car that scared the bulls back into their pens. It was a fun night for sure.
The Lodge
Luke and I went to Pawhuska to visit the Mercantile and Lodge. We had been before to the Mercantile, but never to the Lodge. After waiting in line and shopping and eating, we headed out to tour the Lodge. I couldn't wait. It was beautiful. The land, the lodge, everything! I even stopped to pet Walter of course- he reminded me so much of Stormy. I can't believe I've been to where she films the Pioneer Woman. Next time, Kingston has got to come- he would get a kick out of it for sure!

Eclipse Day
PaPa and I went to Kingston's Class for the Eclipse Day. We got outside around 1 and waited for the magic to happen. Dad made a cereal box projector thing that Kingston loved. He showed all his classmates. He told me at one time, "If you look at it without your glasses, you will be blind." "If you close your eyes, that's what it's like to be blind- and I don't want that." The kids did great leaving their glasses on while looking at the moon and sun. It was so hot outside, but when the Eclipse happened, it got cooler. It was basically like having your sunglasses on in the broad daylight. We stayed with the kids til about 1:30 then went inside. It was fun being able to share that with his entire Kindergarten classroom.
