Easter
We had a busy Easter weekend. We worked all week on the Kingdom, so by the time Easter Sunday rolled around, our whole family was exhausted!!! The kids loved the bags with goodies the Easter bunny brought. We took a few pictures before church and headed off. It was well worth the exhaustion for sure!

The Birthday boy!
We celebrated Robert's 9th Birthday in a Mario/Luigi party. We grilled burgers and dogs. I made him cupcakes, we sang happy birthday, and even had an easter egg hunt. The kids had a blast. Aunt Amanda came along with Nana and PaPa. It was a fun way to celebrate his special day!

Wye Mountain
Luke and I took the kids Sunday afternoon after church to Wye Mountain. We knew we would not have time this week or the next to get Easter pictures. We had the kids change in the car- Robert didn't get his black pants on, so we settled for jeans. We got there just in time for the rain to stop, took some pictures and had a snack, then the rain started again! It was a fun little photo shoot though.
Robert's 1st Soccer Game
Robert had his first soccer game this past Saturday. It was like old times being back on a soccer field. It's amazing to be a parent on the soccer field now. Robert did great playing. He even got to play keeper- a position a really hated! Coach Michael has done a great job teaching the boys how to pass and look around the field. We're looking forward to more Saturday's on the field! Go U9 Warriors!
ISI Recognition
Dad recently moved the office to a new location. The guys wanted to surprise Dad with a party and plaques to honor this move. I thought it was nice of the team to do. We had Shotgun Dan's Pizza and a Salad to celebrate plus an amazing cake! Congrats ISI on the new office space!
The Cat in the Hat Field Trip
Asia's 1st grade class went to see the Cat in the Hat at the Children's Theatre. They had a picnic at Mills Park. It was FREEZING outside that day. Asia didn't seem a bit thrilled that I came along for the field trip. She ignored me the entire time they were at the park. I ended up sitting on a picnic table off to the side. I was watching the other Mom's interact with their kids. I ended up praying most of the park time. The Lord did a cool thing though. While I was on the verge of tears, he sent two Mom's to come and sit with me. One declared herself an "older" Mom, and the other one was a Grandmother. Both of them stayed with me until it was time to have lunch. We had a fun time visiting.
The Cat in the Hat play was good. Asia seemed to enjoy it. I enjoyed looking at the set and props. After the show, the kids were able to ask questions about the play. They learned what trap door was and how magnets helped hold some of the props together. It was a fun afternoon. Asia did seem glad I came, although she didn't talk to me the whole day. It was a let down and hard day for me!

Do you want to build a Snowman?
The kids really wanted to build a snowman this time. The snow was a "dry" snow and made it difficult. However, we decided to build a snowman lying down. He's complete with a cone hat and carrot nose. We have yet to name him, but after all the "Do you want to build a snowman?" I think we sang Frozen most of the day. It was a fun family day.
