Kindergarten Graduation Day

After the end of the year party, Kingston asked if he could spend the night with us.  On the way home, we went to Walmart to get him some dress shoes and a belt.  He asked if he could get a toy if he was good.  I reminded him that he was expected to be good regardless if he got a toy or not.  However, we might take a spin through the toys.  After finding him some shoes and a belt, I ran through the boys shirt section.  I asked him if he saw any shirt that he liked.  He immediately picked this red one.  I asked him why he liked it- he said, "Because red is my favorite color and it was Daddy's too."  So of course, we bought that one.  He picked 2 new beyblades to play with.  I told him that was his graduation present from us.  He didn't know you got graduation presents and was impressed.  He later asked Uncle Luke if you graduated from 1st grade too. LOL!  That night Kingston wanted Tacos and Chip and Dip for supper- so that's what he got.  We ended the night by watching the Pioneer Woman while eating cupcakes and cookies.

The next morning, we got all dressed and he had Fruit Loops for breakfast. On the way to school, we talked about graduation.  He asked if I had ever graduated before and I told him yes.  I told him that when I was in the 12th grade I had to give a speech.  He looked surprised and asked me if he was going to have to do that.  I told him no, that he would just get up there and sing and that'd be it.  He asked me numerous times if he looked nice- he was so nervous.  I had to call Luke on the way and inform him that the Kindergarten Graduate asked for Chicken Mini's for breakfast too.  We stopped at Chick Fila on the way to get that baby some chicken mini's.

Graduation was fun.  It was so neat to see all his classmates get their diplomas.  I feel like I know all these kids so well by being up there all school year.  Of course, Mrs. Atwood has been a fantastic teacher for Kingston and I'm so blessed she let me help as much as I could this year.  Somehow though, I couldn't help but miss Chris today.  He would have been all smiles for sure.  Bring on 1st Grade!
