Our Garage Door

Luke and I decided to go out for supper last night. On our way up our steep driveway we noticed the garage door wouldn't open. We could see the light on, but couldn't get it to open. Luke went in to investigate and found out that the spring holding the door broke! Thank God we weren't inside and it didn't fall on us. So today, it's a call in to Royal Door Company to see how much this lovely thing is going to cost us! Garage doors aren't a DIY thing. The bad thing is, my car is stuck inside!!!! I guess no going to Wally World until tonight...oh well!

Happy Father's Day

We had the whole family together today. We ate a delicious lunch from the Rib Crib. Chris and Charelle even came over too! Dad really like his scripture boat Luke and I gave him. We even took time for some family photos, one of which includes just me and Chris....that's hard to do!!! But we toughed it through and smiled cheesily!!!

Crazy George

While Mom and I waited for everyone to get out of church we caught George acting crazy!

My Mockingbird Baby

Well I kept hearing a chirping noise from a Mocking Bird baby today. He must have stayed on my front porch most of the morning and afternoon looking at George. George had the best time meowing at him too! It kept him entertained and out of my hair!!! I just had to take a few pics.

My Chicken Pot Pie

Ok, so last night I wanted a chicken pot pie...but not one with a biscuit crust. So, I of course, turned to my dear friend Paula. I didn't have the "heavy cream" nor did I want to follow all of her steps...so I used some of her knowledge and some of my own!

Here is what I did:

1. Bought frozen puff pastry. I used both sheets in the box. I let them thaw then I cut them into strips and latticed them onto a piece of parchment paper (on a cookie sheet). I baked them at 375 til they were very lightly browned.
2. Then I boiled my chicken and left a little bit of the broth with it. I added 1 can cream of mushroom soup, 1 can cream of chicken soup, a can of carrots (drained), 1 can of green beans (drained) and 1 can of whole kernel corn (drained).
3. I shred my chicken and mixed all of the above together. I sprayed a 9x13 pan and put the chicken mixture in the bottom. I then transferred the lattice work to the top. I baked it all about an hour or so at 350...watching and turning the heat down so it wouldn't burn on the top. It was to die for!!!
I know, it's sad I took pics of my cooking, but I even impressed myself!!! That's hard to do!

Can you guess who this is???

Luke and I finally purchased a scanner. I have been busy scanning his baby pics. I have wanted to do this for a long time and just never made time for it. Well a couple of days ago I did....and I'm so glad I did. I now have all his Mom's pictures of Luke scanned and I thought I would share a few!!! My goal is to make a scrapbook of his childhood and my childhood.

Bowling with the Sunday School

We had a blast last night bowling. Amber did a great job putting this fellowship on. Most of my pictures were blurry, but that won't stop me from scrapbooking them sometime in the near future. Luke and I bowled with Jason and Alicen and had a blast. Whenever you had a "Strike" you had to grab a blue crown if you were a boy and a yellow crown if you were a girl. You also had to tell an interesting fact about yourself....needless to say, I never got a crown...but, Jason and Luke both got them! I overheard David Nelson tell someone that he performed several Hysterectomys (I'm a horrible speller) that morning....so when Ben DeBusk, our teacher, went to take his crown....he said, "Well I graduated High School in 1980....I know that doesn't compare to doing like 3 hysterectomys....and then Aaron said...."Well I was born in 1979"....Ben didn't have much to say after that! He is such a great teacher and a joy to be around! We also found out Nathan Statton can juggle and do balloon tricks and was even a waiter at Shorty Smalls.

Enjoy my pics...even the blurry ones!
