Potato Soup Recipe

I actually made this recipe on Tuesday night but I never really ate any of it until Thursday! I ate a peanut butter sandwhich for lunch on Tuesday, and let's just say I threw the peanut butter container out. I don't care if I ever eat it again!!! So needless to say, Luke enjoyed this Crockpot Potato Soup on Tuesday while I enjoyed a big glass of Sprite!

It makes a LOT...so the next time I make it I might 1/2 the recipe. It's super easy and is a great way to use up the potatoes before they start to sprout! Plus its in the crockpot...and ready when you are!

Crockpot Potato Soup:
8 Lg. Potatoes peeled and cubed (make your cubes small if you want it to cook well!!)
6 c. water
2 chicken bouillon cubes
1/2 c. onion, chopped
2 c. milk
1/2 c. flour

Place potatoes, water, chicken bouillon, and onion in crock pot. Cook on low all day til potatoes are tender. (I had big hunks of potatoes so I actually cooked mine on low all day and on high for about 2 hours!) Mix milk and flour together and add to the potatoes the last 30 minutes of cooking. When it thickens it's ready to eat.

** I used my blender stick (or boat motor as Paula Deen calls it) to actually help it thicken. You could just use a Potato Masher if you really wanted.

Add Cheese and some bacon to it....and Salt and Pepper!!! It's really good and easy!!!

Lily's 1st Photo Shoot

Christylee and I were able to go out and have lunch today. We ate at McAlisters and then went shopping at Target, Old Navy, and Kohls. We were really tired by the end of Target!!! All 3 of us (Christylee, Me, and Lily) came back to the house for Lily's 1st Photo Shoot. Christylee had 4 outfits for her to try on....except 1 was WAY too big! We were able to get over 100 shots of sweet Lily. Luke loaded Picasa onto my computer tonight and I learned how to edit my photos. Enjoy...I'm sure I'll have many more photos of Lily to come. Don't worry...there aren't 100 photos in this slideshow! I picked out the ones I liked the best!

An Esate Sale Steal!!!

Yesterday afternoon on our way back from Grady, Mom and Luke and I stopped by an Estate Sale. We had already been to the Estate Sale on Saturday, but on Sunday it was all 50% off. I had my eye on this comforter....and told the guy SOLD when he said it was only 25 bucks! It's brand new and a King size! It had the sham and the bed skirt too! We steamed it clean (just in case) in Mom's washing machine. I just love it!

They also had these old doors at the estate sale. We know I love old junk so I couldn't pass this up either. In the top one I put old photos of my Grandma and PaPa in it. I also (with Luke's help and Mom's) put a plate, spoon, eye glasses, and a doiley on these. I think they turned out pretty good!

Hardin Pumpkin Patch

Yesterday Mom, Luke, and I all went to Grady, AR to the Hardin Pumpkin Patch. Luke and I had been there before....about 7 years ago with Kim and Patrick Norton. We had a blast and thought Mom would like it too. I didn't remember it being 7 bucks a person though!!! I thought that was kinda steep when we didn't even get to go out to the actual Pumpkin Patch. The workers were more interested in eating that taking the hayride to the patch. We waited for a while, but no one ever called for the hayride.

We had a good time anyway! We were able to pet lots of animals including Mom's new friend Doug the Donkey. We even took some great scrapbooking photos. It was a fun day but we were sure tired when we got home!!!

We all have to vote AGAIN???
The winners: 1st place: Arlyn Howard & 2nd Place is Kristen Nelson
We had a blast last night at our Cupcake Crop. I think I only got 2 pages done, but who's counting! Mom and I brought the cupcakes and everyone pitched in and decorated one. We voted...and voted again....and there were 2 winners: Arlyn Howard and Kristen Nelson. They both won door prizes. I think we had about 15 in attendance last night which is a great turnout! Thanks for coming ladies....it really is a blessing to me to be surrounded by women who love the same hobby as I do!

The Hot Springs Craft Show

Those small pieces of fried heaven!

Lip Smackin' Good

Yum!!!

Silly girls

The fair grounds
Yesterday Mom and I went to the Hot Springs Craft Show. It was really good this year! We always go for those little donuts- a small piece of fried heaven and of course the Kettle Corn. Mom bought a few things at the craft show. We ate lunch at Don Juan's in Hot Springs. Mom would NOT recommend it as her Taco Salad was floating in cheese dip and sour cream and didn't even have tomatoes...just lettuce. My Taco on the other hand was great...but I guess it's hard to mess up a taco. We also stopped at Books a Million where we both purchased some books. Then we headed back to our house to put the dogs up and head to church. I love spending time with my Mom!

I have a great Hubby!

The crick (sp?) in my neck has gotten worse. It was so bad yesterday I finally gave in and called my Dr. for some muscle relaxers. Luke took off work from downtown and went to get my pills from the Kroger here in Benton. I remember taking one about 2:30pm and that was it. I barely remember eating supper. I think I slept for 13 hours straight! It's better this morning, but I'm still going to take another one here in a little bit. Luke even went grocery shopping for us last night! Thanks a bunch! Well I'm off to sleepy land again with my Mr. Heating pad. Good night...or is day???
