Breakfast for Dinner was great!

Paula's Butterscotch Rolls

Hash Brown Quiche

The Butterscotch Rolls of Paula's turned out great. They were gooey and yeasty and sweet....YUM!! The Quiche was pretty good too. You know I can't follow a recipe so instead of the green onions and ham....I cut up and fried some bacon with a vidalia onion. The crust would have been better had I read the right temp to cook it at....450 not 350. See you cook it at 450 then turn your oven down to 350 towards the end! Anyways. It was a pretty good dinner!

Paula's Breakfast Quiche
3 cups, shredded frozen hash browns, thawed and drained
4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) butter, melted
3 large eggs,beaten
1 cup half-and-half
3/4 cup diced cooked ham
1/2 cup diced green onions
1 cup shredded Cheddar
Salt and freshly ground black pepper

Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
Gently press the drained hash browns between paper towels to dry them as best as possible. In a 9-inch pie plate, toss the hash browns with the melted butter into the plate. Press them into the bottom and up the sides to form a crust. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown and starting to crisp.
Meanwhile, in a large mixing bowl, combine the remaining ingredients. When the hash brown crust is ready pour the egg mixture over it and return to the oven.
Lower the oven temperature to 350 degrees F and bake for about 30 minutes until the quiche is light golden brown on top and puffed.

Your momma says:

I am so proud of you!!! I know some gals your age think it STRANGE that you are a stay home wife BUT what they don't realize is that you have the BEST job there is!!!!

I don't get why some gals think it strange that you want to stay home so you can keep a clean house, have a hot meal on the table for your husband, and have the freedom of being able to "play" after your chores are done.

And moreover, you do NOT HAVE TO HAVE CHILDREN TO STAY AT HOME!!!!! DON'T LET ANYONE TELL YOU OTHERWISE! I'VE BEEN AN EMPTY NEST MOM NOW FOR SEVERAL YEARS AND I STILL LOVE MY JOB AS A STAY HOME WIFE AS MUCH AS I DID WHEN I HAD 2 CHILDREN AT HOME 24/7!!!!!!!!!

I am very proud of you! The world needs MORE just like you! After all, your husband, after working all day outside the home, is entitled to a hot meal and NOT HAVING TO DO HIS LAUNDRY OR ANY ONE ELSE'S LAUNDRY! He's done his job for the day....

You keeping a clean home for him to come home to allows him to relax and get ready for the next day. Your job of being a stay home wife and keeping things neat and tidy allows him to do a better job at HIS job. Why don't some of these gals GET THAT?????

Don't let any of those stupid remarks that some of these clueless gals make get under your skin. Lord knows I heard it too back 25 years ago. It rolled off of me like water on a duck's back and YOU LET IT DO THE SAME.

Trust me...you are the one that is the "winner"...how many gals your age that YOU KNOW can cook like you do....can sew....scrapbook....decorate and keep a clean house and laundry done??? NONE THAT I KNOW OF!!!!!!

Your momma is VERY PROUD of you and loves you!!!!!!!!
